Stereoscope Stereoscope

A simple Android application for viewing stereoscopic (3D) pictures.

Make a selection of your best 3D pictures and, with Stereoscope, you can keep them right in your pocket, always ready to be shown to others!
Pictures must be in side-by-side format (either parallel or crossed-eye, full or half width) in JPG, JPS or MPO files.
The application will be looking in a folder of your Android device for 3D pictures, the default folder is /sdcard/3D, it can be changed in the Settings screen.
The found pictures are displayed as 2D thumbnails, clicking one will display the image full-screen in the selected 3D mode (parallel, crossed-eye, side-by-side for 3DTV, various anaglyph modes,...).
Use the Menu button of your Android device to select another 3D mode, swap the left and right images if the 3D effect is reversed or start an automatic slideshow.
You can also manually display the next image by swiping your finger on the screen to the left (or to the right to display the previous image).
Do a long click on the thumbnail to define/edit the picture information. Use the Save button to save your changes.
Do a long click on the full-screen image to display the picture information. If GPS coordinates are defined, click on the link to display the location in Google Maps.

Making picture albums

By default Stereoscope will explore the picture folder and display the found pictures in alphabetical order.
Using an index files gives more control:
   - The pictures order can be specified by the user,
   - Information can be added to the pictures: date, location, comment,...
To do this, all is needed is to create an index file in the picture folder: a simple text file named index.txt or an XML file named index.xml for added features.
Text file:
It's a simple texte file specifying, line by line, the pictures to be displayed. Following the picture name, a comment can be added, separated by a vertical bar character "|".
Example :
ElSalvador_1090_X.jpg|On the jetty in Puerto La Libertad, El Salvador.
ElSalvador_0255c_X.jpg|Bus in Savaldor.
Saint-Ouen_Neige_X.jps|Snow fall on the Saint-Ouen townhall.
XML file:
Using an XML file allows better control on the information attached to the pictures. The following fields can be used:
   - file : name of the picture file (mandatory field).
   - date : date the picture was taken, ISO-8601 format (optionnal).
   - location : localisation de l'image (optionnal).
   - comment : free comment (optionnal).
   - gps : geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude ; optionnal).
Example :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
