The Burnt Forest near the Tolbachik (Толбачик) volcano This lunar landscape is the result of an enormous eruption that has lasted for one year and and a half (July, 1975 - December, 1976). All the forest has been destroyed as ashes covered an enormous territory. Nearly 20 years later, grass is only starting to grow again here.
