On the Pacific coast, Puerto La Libertad is a lively little harbor. Being close to the capital San Salvador, the place is very busy on weekends, but during the week the village is rather quiet. There is a long jetty, partly occupied by the fish market. At its end, big winches are used to put the fishermen boats on the water.
