From a corner of the Forum des Halles The Forum des Halles is a large and mostly underground shopping center. It is the former site of the famous Halles, the open markets immortalized by Émile Zola in Le ventre de Paris, demolished in 1971. Older people are regretting the old Halles of iron and younger found the architecture of the Forum is a bit too '70. Projects are under way to demolish the whole thing and build something new. Anyway I like these glass mushrooms that give shelter on the upper level.
